Commentary

Homestead National Monument is located near Beatrice, Nebraska. This site commemorates the Homestead Act of 1862 signed into law by Abraham Lincoln. It was at this site that Daniel Freeman made the first application on January 1, 1863. This lot contains one coin from each of the three issuing mints (3 mints in total): Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
