Exemplaire très bien centré sur un flan légèrement irrégulier avec un manque à 12 heure. Le métal est cristallisé et couvert d’une épaisse patine sombre. Très beau buste du roi. Atelier assez rare pour le type avec un monétaire peu commun : Tuna

Variété sans sceptre à droite du buste.
Le buste est clairement inspiré des portraits des empereurs romains sur les siliques d’argent du IVe siècle.
Il s’agit là d’une émission de l’un des premiers rois d’Angleterre, héritiers des princes de Wessex, à une époque ou royaumes saxons et occupants Danois se partagent les terres de Grande Bretagne.
Variety without a scepter to the right of the bust. The bust is clearly inspired by the portraits of Roman emperors on 4th-century silver siliquae. This is an issue of one of the first kings of England, heirs of the princes of Wessex, at a time when Saxon kingdoms and Danish occupants divided the lands of Great Britain between them.
