Ce denier est frappé sur un flan court et irrégulier. Le métal est légèrement piqué au droit. Patine foncée et rougeâtre, avec une concrétion verte au revers

Cette monnaie est l’une des rares avec deux représentations humaines de l’époque mérovingienne.

(7th - 8th centuries)
If the minting of these coins is to be located at the beginning of the 8th century, in Great Britain, it is not exceptional to find them in Gaul. They are often confused with Merovingian silver coins (cf. MONNAIES XIX, n° 503, sceattas c. 680-710, classified in Merovingian denier of Laon). During the 8th century, the style of these pieces is more and more degenerated, they are often in ridge or filled. These coins disappeared from circulation in the second half of the 8th century.
