EGYPT - KINGDOM OF EGYPT - FUAD I

(1922-1936)

Fouad (26/031868-28/04/1936) was first sultan from 1917 under the English protectorate. In 1922, during the dismantling of Turkey, Egypt became completely independent and Fouad was proclaimed king. Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered in the Valley of the Kings by Lord Carnavon and Howard Carter in 1922.
