Coments on the condition:
Bronze identifiable, avec un droit très mou et un revers un peu plus beau. Épaisse patine brune, un peu piquée par endroits

Obverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Obverse description : Tête à gauche, la chevelure en petites mèches, bourrelet périphérique.
Reverse
Reverse legend : SNIA.
Reverse description : Loup à gauche, la gueule ouverte, légende au-dessus, bourrelet périphérique.
Commentary
Toujours considéré par certains comme une monnaie coulée, ce bronze est frappé et à notre connaissance il ne s'agit pas d'une série frappée et coulée, comme cela peut être le cas pour les monnaies TVRONOS CANTORIX par exemple. En admettant que l'atelier de fabrication de ce bronze se situe à proximité du site de Fort-Harrouard, l'attribution aux Carnutes pourrait alors être revue en faveur des Durocasses.

The Durocasses are not cited by Caesar in the Gallic Wars. They seem to have emancipated themselves from Carnut tutelage quite late, like the Parisii from that of the Senones. Their name means "the warriors of the fortified hill"..
