Exemplaire bien centré avec un superbe portrait. Revers bien venu à la frappe et à l’usure régulière. Une fine patine de collection avec des reflets dorés recouvre cet exemplaire

Reverse translation : “Consul quartum decimum”, (Consul pour la quatorzième fois).
Commentary
La représentation du revers, avec le consulat placé de chaque côté de Minerve combattant, est tout à fait exceptionnelle. Cet exemplaire manque à la plupart des grandes collections dont celle du Cabinet des médailles. Ce denier est en fait beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

Augustus
Domitian, born in 51, became august in 81, succeeding his brother. In 86, the Capitoline games were organized for the first time. The Flavian Palace is erected on the Palatine. In 88, the secular games were celebrated with pomp. A first campaign is launched on Dacia which ends with a peace of compromise, leaving Decebalus master of the situation. Domitian has just won a brilliant campaign against the Sarmatians and the Suevi (IMP XXII). Agricola died in disgrace on August 23, 93. In 95, Domitian had Flavius Clemens, his cousin, executed. The following year, Domitian will be assassinated at the instigation of his wife and the prefect of the Praetorium.
