Exemplaire bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait de style fin. Revers bien venu à la frappe où tous les détails sont visibles. Épaisse patine grise avec des reflets dorés et bleutés de collection ancienne

Reverse description : Minerve casquée, vêtue du chiton avec l’égide flottant au vent marchant à droite, brandissant une javeline de la main droite et tenant un bouclier de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Imperator unvicesimum Consul sextum decimum Censor Perpetuus Pater Patriæ”, (Revêtu de la vingt-et-unième salutation impériale consul pour la seizième fois censeur perpétuel père de la patrie).
Commentary
Poids léger. Point séparatif dans la légende de droit, avant GERM. Au revers la javeline que tient Minerve est pratiquement invisible. En revanche, l’égide est bien visible et on semble distinguer les reste de la tête de Méduse posée sur l’égide placée sur la poitrine de Minerve.

Augustus
Domitian, born in 51, became august in 81, succeeding his brother. In 86, the Capitoline games were organized for the first time. The Flavian Palace is erected on the Palatine. In 88, the secular games were celebrated with pomp. A first campaign is launched on Dacia which ends with a peace of compromise, leaving Decebalus master of the situation. Domitian has just won a brilliant campaign against the Sarmatians and the Suevi (IMP XXII). Agricola died in disgrace on August 23, 93. In 95, Domitian had Flavius Clemens, his cousin, executed. The following year, Domitian will be assassinated at the instigation of his wife and the prefect of the Praetorium.
