Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très beau portrait, mais frappe un peu molle. Joli revers. Patine gris métallique avec des reflets marron glacé

Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II César à gauche avec pan de paludamentum, vu de trois quarts en avant (A01).

Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3. Épaulière ornée d’une palme. Ptéryges fines sous le paludamentum. Globe non visible au revers.

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
