Exemplaire sur un petit flan, un peu court sur la légende. Beau portrait. Usure superficielle au revers. Jolie patine marron foncé lissée

Commentary


Poids léger. Rubans de type 1 aux extrémités bouletées. Trace de frappe incuse du droit au revers.
Lightweight. Type 1 ribbons with rounded ends. Incuse strike mark on the right side of the reverse.

Caesar

Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
