Exemplaire parfaitement centré au droit sur un flan ovale. Joli buste inhabituel. Patine marron foncé

Obverse description : Buste tête nue, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II, vu de trois quarts en avant (A°).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Claudius Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Claude Constantin le jeune très noble césar).
Reverse
Reverse legend : CLARITAS REIPVBLICAE/ T|F// .ATR.
Reverse description : Sol (le Soleil) radié à demi nu, debout de face regardant à gauche, levant la main droite et tenant un globe de la gauche.
Reverse translation : “Claritas Reipublicæ”, (L'Éclat de la république).

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
