Exemplaire sur un flan large et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait de Caracalla. Joli revers inhabituel et recherché. Belle patine vert olive foncé, granuleuse

Trou de centrage visible des deux côtés. Rubans de type 3. Ptéryges larges. Représentation exceptionnelle du revers avec les Trois Grâces ou “Charites” en grec. Elles sont les divinités gréco-romaines de la Beauté : Aglaé, Thalie, Euphrosyne. L’exemplaire de MONNAIES XXV, n° 331 s’est vendu 687€ sur un maximum à 755€ avec cinq offres, mais ne semble pas des mêmes coins.

Augustus
After Geta's assassination, Caracalla decreed the "damnatio memoriæ" of his brother. The "Constitution Antoniniana" was promulgated in 212. All the inhabitants of the Empire became Roman citizens. The following year he undertook a campaign in Germania and won numerous victories over the Germans, Iapyges and Goths. He received the title of "Germanicus". The end of the reign was marked in 215 by the Monetary Reform and the creation of the Antoninianus. Caracalla begins a final campaign against the Parthians. He is assassinated after having celebrated his vicennalia.
