CAMPANIA - KYMAI

(5th - 4th century BC)

Cumae, a Greek colony founded by inhabitants of Chalkidiki and Eretria is located on the western coast of Campania. She had to face the attacks of the Etruscans in 524 before J. - C., then of Hiéron of Syracuse in 474 before J. - C. The city was conquered by the Samnites in 423 before J. - C. The city obtained the right Latin around 180 BC.
