Exemplaire sur flan ovale bien centré à l’usure importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Belle tête de Neptune. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine grise avec reflets dorés

Historical background
BRUTUS
(85-42 BC)
Brutus first chooses Pompey against Caesar. After Pharsalus (48 BC), the dictator forgives and adopts Brutus. This plots against Caesar and participates in his assassination on the Ides of March (March 15, 44 BC). He then retired to Macedonia. Having gathered his troops with those of Cassius, he confronts Marc Antoine and Octave at Philippi in 42 BC. Defeated, he commits suicide.
