Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Très joli droit où les plumes de l’aile de l’aigle sont partiellement visibles. Joli revers. Patine grise superficielle avec une petite tache dans le champ supérieur droit

Obverse description : Aigle debout à gauche, les aigles déployées ; les serres posés sur une branche d’olivier.

Reverse description : Trépied delphien où sont accrochées deux bandelettes sur une ligne d’exergue ; dans le champ à droite, une grue tournée à gauche, placée au-dessus d’un delta.

Commentary
Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire de l’American Numismatic Society (ANS. n° 368). Semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

BRUTTIUM - CROTON
(4th-3rd century BC)
Crotone is an Achaean colony founded in 710 BC Under the leadership of Milon, the Crotoniates captured Sybaris and destroyed it. In the following century, following internal struggles, the city declined before falling into the hands of Dionysius of Syracuse in 378 BC, then Agathokles in 296 BC and finally between those of Pyrrhus in 277 BCE. It was conquered by the Romans during the Second Punic War after the Battle of Cannae in 216 BC.
