Commentary

Ce type, frappé en 1851 et 1852, est transitoire entre le type avec buste habillé et celui avec la tête nue et la légende en petits caractères. C'était la plus grosse dénomination pour les monnaies d'or.
This type, struck in 1851 and 1852, is transitional between the type with a clothed bust and the one with a bare head and a small-print legend. It was the largest denomination for gold coins.
