Pierre Ier (1798-1834) fut roi du Portugal et empereur du Brésil. Régent du Brésil en 1821, il proclame l’indépendance du Brésil en 1822. Il devient empereur du Brésil sous le nom de Pierre Ier et sous le nom de Pierre IV roi du Portugal et des Algarves en 1826 à la mort de son père, Jean VI.
