Exemplaire sur un flan large et irrégulier, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Flan légèrement taché au droit. Joli revers avec une usure superficielle. Patine grise avec des reflets dorés

Commentary
Dix-neuf exemplaires de ce type faisait partie du trésor de Myron (IGCH. 62) découvert en 1914 en Thessalie et publié par Svoronos qui contenait plus de 1.600 monnaies dont 525 statères de Thèbes avec noms de magistrats monétaires. Les statères avec Clio ne présentaient pas de liaison de coins avec les autres séries et appartenaient toutes à cette combinaison alors qu’il en existe trois pour ce magistrat.
Nineteen examples of this type were part of the Myron hoard (IGCH. 62) discovered in 1914 in Thessaly and published by Svoronos, which contained more than 1,600 coins, including 525 staters from Thebes with the names of monetary magistrates. The staters with Clio did not present a die connection with the other series and all belonged to this combination, while there are three for this magistrate.

BEOTIA - THEBES
(5th - 4th century BC)
Thebes was Athens' great rival. During the Peloponnesian War (431-404 AC.), she was an ally of Sparta. It dominated Greece, thanks to the strategist Epaminondas who, after the liberation of Thebes in 379 BC, successively triumphed over Sparta at Leuctra (371 AC.) and Corinth (369 AC.) before finding death at Mantinea (362 AC.). After this date, Philip II of Macedonia imposes his domination over Boeotia. Thebes was crushed in 338 BC at Chéronée where Alexander cut his teeth. The city is destroyed three years later.
