En 1854, une rebellion initiée par des mineurs d’or éclate à Eureka et s’oppose à l’autorité coloniale britannique. Le 3 décembre 1854, soldats et policiers la réprime dans le sang.
In 1854, a rebellion led by gold miners broke out in Eureka against British colonial authority. On December 3, 1854, soldiers and police brutally suppressed it.
