Petit bronze de qualité, bien que sur un flan court et irrégulier. Patine gris vert

Obverse description : Deux chevaux affrontés face à face avec un petit sanglier entre deux ; l'ensemble sur un laurier.

Reverse description : Cheval bondissant à gauche, un petit sanglier enseigne à gauche entre les jambes.

Commentary

Ce bronze semble inédit ; le droit est très proche du bronze ambien DT. 442, mais le revers avec le cheval en type principal et le sanglier enseigne en type secondaire manque !
Ce revers est typique des Aulerques Eburovices ; nous notions d'ailleurs pour un bronze DT. 442 que " Ce genre de bronze est classé parmi les émissions des ambiens aux animaux affrontés, mais les rapports avec certains bronzes Aulerques ou Véliocasses en sont peut-être pas à négliger"

This bronze seems to be unpublished; the obverse is very close to the bronze ambien DT. 442, but the reverse with the horse as the main type and the boar ensign as the secondary type is missing! This reverse is typical of the Aulerci Eburovices; we also noted for a bronze DT. 442 that \\\"This type of bronze is classified among the emissions of the ambien with confronted animals, but the relationships with certain bronzes Aulerci or Veliocasses are perhaps not to be neglected\\\"
