Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, court sur les légendes. Très beau portrait primitif d’Antonin. Joli revers. Patine vert foncé granuleuse

Obverse description : Buste drapé et cuirassé, tête nue d’Antonin à droite, vu de trois quarts en arrière (A°2).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Titus Ælius Cæsar Hadrianus Antoninus”, (L’empereur Titus Aélius césar Hadrien Antonin).
Reverse
Reverse legend : TRIB - POT COS/ S|C// PIETAS.
Reverse description : Pietas (la Piété) voilée, drapée, debout à gauche, versant de l’encens de la main droite tendue au-dessus d’un autel allumé et tenant une boîte à parfums (accera) de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Tribunicia Potestas Consul/ Pietas”, (Revêtu de la puissance tribunitienne consul/ la Piété).
Commentary
Nous avons plutôt affaire à un dupondius plutôt qu’à un as. Une des émissions les plus rares du début du règne d’Antonin César à la fin du règne d’Hadrien (donativum aux troupes). Ce type semble en fait beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages de référence .
