Commentary

Il est plus que probable que ce jeton est lié à la guerre de libération des Etats-Unis : c'est la seule occurrence de la Marine sous le règne de Louis XVI et le type est repris de plusieurs jetons de la Marine, dont celui de 1712.
It is more than likely that this token is linked to the American War of Liberation: it is the only occurrence of the Navy under the reign of Louis XVI and the type is taken from several Navy tokens, including that of 1712
