Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait d’Émilien. Revers de frappe un peu molle. Belle patine gris foncé de collection ancienne

AEMILIANUS

Emilian was governor of Moesia in 252, when Trebonian Galle entrusted him with the mission of repelling the Goths who had broken the Danubian limes. Emilien succeeds; he is proclaimed emperor by his troops. He marched on Italy and challenged Trebonian Galle and Volusian at Terni. Recognized by the Senate, he was finally assassinated in Spoleto by his soldiers who joined Valerian I.
