Commentary

Billet de nécessité (67 x 53 mm ), réalisé par le photographe L. Gauthier à Papeete. Non émis, sans texte au dos.
Tirage argentique sur papier cartonné.
Recto : un couple de Tahitiens et une vue de Mooréa avec mentions : "Bon pour Deux Francs - Monnaie locale - Papeete 1920", signature de Gauthier, avec timbre sec "L. GAUTHIER / TAHITI".
Nous connaissions seulement un exemplaire (émis) avec texte et tampon au verso. (voir article Bulletin Numismatique 243 juillet 2024).
Emergency note (67 x 53 mm), taken by photographer L. Gauthier in Papeete. Unissued, without text on the back. Silver print on card stock. Front: a Tahitian couple and a view of Moorea with the words: \\\"Good for Two Francs - Local banknote - Papeete 1920\\\", Gauthier's signature, with dry stamp \\\"L. GAUTHIER / TAHITI\\\". We only knew of one example (issued) with text and stamp on the back. (see article Bulletin Numismatique 243 July 2024)
