Magnifique exemplaire frappé sur petit flan ovale coupant une partie de la légende au droit. Buste de toute beauté et revers fantastique avec l’intégralité des détails de la couronne visibles. Monnaie d’une grande fraîcheur de frappe ayant conservé son brillant de frappe et son coupant d’origine

Le seul exemplaire équivalent que nous ayons vu dans les différentes ventes est celui de la vente NAC, Auction 84, du 20 mai 2015, n°1313. La monnaie, dans un état bien inférieur, avait réalisé 1750 francs suisses hors frais. Type de la plus grande rareté .

Second part of reign
Zeno married Ariadne, the daughter of Leo I, around 466. Their son, Leo II, succeeded his grandfather in 474. In fact, it was Zeno who assumed power from February 9 as emperor, before Leo II died on November 17, 474. The following year, he had to face the revolt of Basiliscus and flee Constantinople. Having eliminated Basiliscus and his son in 476, he returned to the capital. A second revolt broke out in 484 with Léonce. It lasts four years. Zeno, hated, died of an epileptic fit in 491. His wife Ariadne married Anastasius.
