Commentary

Ce type est de la plus grande rareté et semble beaucoup moins courant que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
This type is of the greatest rarity and seems much less common than general works suggest.

Historical background

ZENO and LEO II CAESAR

(9/02-17/11/474)

Zeno married Ariadne, daughter of Leo I, around 466. Their son, Leo II, succeeded his grandfather in 474, but in fact it was Zeno who assumed power from February 9 as emperor, before that Leo II died on November 17, 474.
