Commentary
Charles de Bourbon est le fils de François, comte de Vendôme et de Marie de Luxembourg, né en 1489. Il est comte de Vendôme en 1495. Le titre de duc de Vendôme lui est conféré avec la pairie lors du sacre de François Ier en 1515. Les lettres FR pourraient rappeler Françoise d’Alençon, sa femme. Ce jeton montre clairement sur la bande au droit les trois lionceaux des armoiries qui ont été supprimés en 1527. Notre jeton est donc antérieur à cette date et pourrait faire partie de la commande faite à Guillaume Lemay en 1521 (cf. Mazerolle, tome I, p. CL et 503 n° 494). Charles de Bourbon est mort en 1537.
