De petites marques de frottement dans les champs. Chocs sur la tranche notamment à six et onze heures au droit et une et six heures au revers. Très jolie patine de médaillier grise aux reflets rosés

Gregory XVI (1765-1846) was elected after 50 days of conclave. He had been prefect of propaganda before his election. Ultra-conservative, he relied on the Austrians to restore order in his states. He fought against anti-clerical movements in Spain and Portugal and promoted the development of the faith in the United States. He protected the Uniates in Russia.
