Karol Józef Wojtyła est un prêtre polonais, évêque puis archevêque de Cracovie, cardinal, élu pape catholique le 16 octobre 1978 sous le nom de Jean-Paul II (en latin Ioannes Paulus II, en italien Giovanni Paolo II, en polonais Jan Paweł II). Il est appelé saint Jean-Paul II par les catholiques depuis sa canonisation en 2014.
Karol Józef Wojtyła was a Polish priest, bishop and later archbishop of Kraków, and cardinal, elected Catholic pope on October 16, 1978, taking the name John Paul II (Latin: Ioannes Paulus II, Italian: Giovanni Paolo II, Polish: Jan Paweł II). He has been called Saint John Paul II by Catholics since his canonization in 2014.
