Ces potins se trouvent sur les sites de la basse vallée du Rhône recouvrant les départements des Bouches-du-Rhône, du Gard, de l'Hérault et du Vaucluse. Le prototype de ce monnayage semble être constitué par le potin à la grosse tête des Séquanes. Néanmoins, plus de 80 exemplaires ont été recueillis sur l'oppidum de Corent (Puy-de-Dôme) ce qui peut aussi faire penser à une attribution aux Arvernes.
