Exemplaire sur un flan irrégulier et échancré à 1 et 7 heures au revers, court sur les légendes. Beau portrait expressif. Joli revers avec une faiblesse sur la tête de Valentinien Ier. Belle patine vert olive foncé

Reverse description : L'empereur debout de face, la tête tourné à droite, diadémé, vêtu militairement, tenant un étendard de la main droite et un globe nicéphore de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Restitutor Rei Publicæ”, (Le restaurateur du bien public).

Commentary


Rubans de type 3, trifide aux extrémités bouletées. Magnifique fibule d’attache, formée d’un cabochon ouvert orné de trois perles.

Valentinian I

(25/02/364-17/11/375) Flavius Valentinianus

Valentinian proclaimed 25 February 364, enlists his brother Valens as of August 24 of the same year. They share the empire, Valentinian reserving the West. In 367, the emperor appointed his son Gratian august. Valentinian died 17 November 375, leaving the West in great danger.
