Commentary

Silec Cable est une entreprise de conception, de production et d'installation de câbles. Fondée en 1932 par Alfred Dhôme, elle est d'abord installée à Chalette-sur-Loing. Elle vient s'installer à Montereau-Fault-Yonne en 1934. En 1948, elle commence à travailler dans l'activité régulation de trafic, déposant un brevet de feu à illumination fluorescente en 1957. Dans les années 1970, elle se diversifie en particulier dans les câbles pour réseaux. En 1982, Silec rejoint le groupe Sagem, puis fusionne avec SAT Cables en 1989, ses activités sont intégrées dans Sagem à la fin des années 1990.
Elle intègre le groupe Safran à sa création en mai 2005, mais dès décembre 2005, l'activité câble est détachée pour être cédée au groupe américain General Cable. L'activité régulation de trafic, feux tricolores et contrôleurs restée chez Sagemcom rejoint Aximum en 2010..
Silec Cable is a cable design, production, and installation company. Founded in 1932 by Alfred Dhôme, it was first established in Chalette-sur-Loing. It moved to Montereau-Fault-Yonne in 1934. In 1948, it began working in the traffic control business, filing a patent for a fluorescent light in 1957. In the 1970s, it diversified, particularly into network cables. In 1982, Silec joined the Sagem group, then merged with SAT Cables in 1989. Its activities were integrated into Sagem in the late 1990s. It joined the Safran group when it was created in May 2005, but in December 2005, the cable business was detached to be sold to the American group General Cable. The traffic regulation, traffic lights and controllers activity, which remained with Sagemcom, joined Aximum in 2010.
