Entre 1942 et 1945, le nickel devenant un métal essentiel à l’effort de guerre, on le remplace par de l’argent dans la composition du flan. A noter que pour ce type on utilise pour la première fois la lettre P pour signaler les frappes de l’atelier directeur de Philadelphie.
