Commentary


Gravé par James B. Longacre, le type Indian Princess Head (à la tête de princesse indienne) est frappé de 1854 à 1889. A l’époque, cette monnaie est peu prisée et donc peu frappée. Elle est désormais prisée des collectionneurs.
Engraved by James B. Longacre, the Indian Princess Head type was minted from 1854 to 1889. At the time, this coin was not very popular and therefore rarely minted. It is now prized by collectors.

Under McKinley's presidency (1897-1901), the United States confronted Spain and took Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Philippines from it. Theodore Roosevelt succeeded the assassinated president (1901/1909) and undertook an interventionist policy in America and posed as a mediator in regional conflicts. To Taft succeeded in 1913 Wilson who was to bring the United States into the war in 1917.
