Coments on the condition:

Denier excessivement rare, sur un flan un tout petit peu court mais parfaitement identifiable. Frappe un peu molle, avec une patine grise, plus sombre par endroits

Commentary

Le Moneta ne recense qu’un seul exemplaire de ce très rare denier ; le Prou 606 conservé à la BN est le même que le Belfort 6455 (dessine une seconde fois sous le n° 4394). Les dessins du Belfort sont très idéalisés, mais les photos de l’exemplaire de la BN montrent un exemplaire très mou sur un flan plus court que notre monnaie. Ces deux deniers semblent être issus des mêmes coins.
The Moneta lists only one example of this very rare denier; the Prou 606 preserved at the BN is the same as the Belfort 6455 (drawn a second time under the no. 4394). The designs of the Belfort are very idealized, but the photos of the BN example show a very soft example on a shorter flan than our coin. These two deniers seem to come from the same dies.
