THIRD REPUBLIC - TUNISIA - FRENCH PROTECTORATE
After the First World War, the Destour was created in 1920 and revived the nationalist movement. The crisis of the 1930s and the political changes that occurred in France and in Europe favored the birth of new organizations of all kinds. Habib Bourguiba then took advantage of this dynamic to leave the party with a few comrades and found, on March 2, 1934, the Neo-Destour. The French authorities tried to contain any attempt to overthrow the established order by arresting the leaders of the Neo-Destour. Bourguiba was thus arrested in 1938. Tunisia followed the destiny of France. She takes racial laws from July 1940.
