Joseph Athanase Paul Doumer, né le 22 mars 1857 à Aurillac (Cantal) et mort assassiné le 7 mai 1932 à Paris, est un homme d'État français, président de la République française de 1931 à sa mort. Membre du Parti radical, ministre des Finances à trois reprises, puis président du Sénat, Paul Doumer vit sa carrière couronnée par son élection à la présidence de la République, en 1931. Il est assassiné moins d'un an après son investiture, en 1932, par un jeune émigré russe, Paul Gorgulov..

Member of the Radical Party, Minister of Finance three times, then President of the Senate, Paul Doumer's career was crowned by his election to the Presidency of the Republic in 1931. He was assassinated less than a year after his inauguration, in 1932, by a young Russian émigré, Paul Gorgulov.
