Commentary
La médaille a été décernée à Alexandre Mauguin alors qu’il était sénateur. Il naquit le 30 janvier 1838 à Allerey (Côte-d’Or) et décéda à Alger le 4 mars 1916 (Alger). De profession imprimeur, il fut maire et conseiller général de Blida. Il fut député de l’Algérie française de 1881 à 1885 et devint sénateur de 1885 à 1894.
The medal was awarded to Alexandre Mauguin while he was a senator. He was born on January 30, 1838 in Allerey (Côte-d'Or) and died in Algiers on March 4, 1916 (Algiers). A printer by profession, he was mayor and general councilor of Blida. He was a deputy of French Algeria from 1881 to 1885 and became a senator from 1885 to 1894.
