La médaille a été décernée au conseiller d’arrondissement d’Amiens, Gérard de Berny (1880-1957). Issu d’une famille de négociants et de banquiers amiénois enrichie par la Révolution, dont le nom Deberny fut modifié en de Berny par jugement du Tribunal civil d'Amiens en 1856, Gérard de Berny usait parfois du titre de comte. cf. wikipedia.
Ce type précis de MORLON se retrouve la monnaie du concours de 5 francs en 1933.
