Commentary
Médaille attribuée à Gustave-Adolphe Hubbard (1858-1927) franc-maçon et libre-penseur français. Fils de l'économiste et historien français Nicolas Gustave Hubbard, réfugié en Espagne à la suite du coup d'état du 2 décembre 1851, il s’engage dans la vie politique en tant qu’élu conseiller municipal dans le quartier de Montparnasse en 1884. Cette médaille lui fut remise l’année suivante. Il sera ensuite député de Seine-et-Oise de 1885 à 1898, et député des Basses-Alpes de 1901 à 1906.
Medal awarded to Gustave-Adolphe Hubbard (1858-1927), French Freemason and freethinker. Son of the French economist and historian Nicolas Gustave Hubbard, who took refuge in Spain following the coup d'état of December 2, 1851, he entered political life as an elected municipal councilor in the Montparnasse district in 1884. This medal was presented to him the following year. He later served as a deputy for Seine-et-Oise from 1885 to 1898, and as a deputy for Basses-Alpes from 1901 to 1906.
