Obverse description : Femme assise sur un nuage écrivant sur un grand livre tenu par un jeune enfant nu, signé : DANIEL-DUPUIS.

Reverse legend : CINQUANTENAIRE / DES / GRANDS MAGASINS / DU / LOUVRE / 1855 / 9 JUILLET / 1905.
Reverse description : Légende en 8 lignes à droite d’une branche d’olivier. Signature en monogramme.
Commentary
La médaille est connue avec, pour revers, le balancier de la Monnaie de Paris. L’exemplaire présent est dans son coffret d’origine timbré en lettres dorées de la mention : CINQUANTENAIRE DES GRANDS MAGASINS DU LOUVRE / - / 1855-9 Juillet 1905 / - / MR LEMARCHAND / EBENISTERIE.
Comme l’indique le coffret, la médaille a été décernée à Monsieur Lemarchand, travaillant probablement dans le service de l’ébénisterie en 1905.
The medal is known with, on the reverse, the pendulum of the Paris Mint. The present example is in its original case stamped in gold letters with the words: CINQUANTENAIRE DES GRANDS MAGASINS DU LOUVRE / - / 1855-9 July 1905 / - / MR LEMARCHAND / EBENISTERIE. As the case indicates, the medal was awarded to Mr. Lemarchand, probably working in the cabinetmaking department in 1905
