Commentary
Petit-fils de Louis-Philippe et frère de la reine Amélie, Philippe, duc d'Orléans est resté célèbre dans l'Histoire pour être retourné en France, en 1890, bravant ainsi les lois d'exil qui, depuis 1886, interdisaient la présence sur le territoire national de la famille royale. Après s'être présenté au bureau de recrutement de Paris pour faire son service militaire, il est arrêté, condamné à deux ans de prison et expulsé. Â la mort de son père, en 1894, il devient prétendant au trône de France. Il meurt sans descendance en 1926.
