Commentary

On this example the Cabire is hairless, the decorated pilos do not seem to be decorated with two stars, one on each side of the cap and the retrograde reverse legend. Moreover, the crown looks more like an olive tree than a laurel.

Historical background

TROAS - BIRYTIS

(4th century BC)

We know nothing about this city, which has now disappeared, apart from the fact that a coinage is attested in the 4th century BC. But it was perhaps located not far from Gargara on the Gulf of Adramytion.
