Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale bien centré. Belle tête d’Apollon. Joli revers de style fin bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine vert clair

Ce monnayage avec le type du cheval fut très abondant à l’époque hellénistique et impériale. Sur cet exemplaire le foudre est peu visible à l’exergue.

Historical background
TROAS - ALEXANDRIA
(3rd - 1st century BC)
Alexandria of Troad was created in 310 BC by Antigone le Borgne thanks to a contribution of populations coming from Cebren, Colone, Hamaxitus, Neandreia and Scepsis. The city was renamed Alexandreia in 300 BC after the battle of Ipsos by Lysimachus in memory of the great conqueror. The imperial coinage was abundant between Commodus and Gallien.
