Sesterce frappé à l’occasion des Decennalia. Ce type est daté par le chercheur autrichien de 107-108 tandis que P. V. Hill en place la fabrication en 106. Avec l’égide, ce type est beaucoup plus rare, 3 exemplaires contre 33 pour le buste drapé sur l’épaule !.
Sestertius struck on the occasion of the Decennalia. This type is dated by the Austrian researcher to 107-108 while PV Hill places the manufacture in 106. With the aegis, this type is much rarer, 3 examples compared to 33 for the bust draped on the shoulder!

Trajan was born on September 18, 53 in Italica, near Seville in Spain, like his pupil Hadrian. He belongs to a family of settlers settled in Spain. After a brilliant military career under the Flavians, he was consul in 91 and legate of Germania Superior when he was adopted by Nerva in 97 to succeed him. After the death of the latter, he becomes august. His reign will be devoted to numerous military campaigns against the Germans on the Rhine limes, which earned him the title of Germanicus.
