THUNDER - COUNTY OF THUNDER - ÉLÉONORE SAVOY

(1304-1308)

Guillaume de Chalon Count of Auxerre, was killed in August 1304 during the Battle of Mons-en-Pévèle. His son, John II of Chalon is then aged only 12 years and his aunt Eleanor de Savoie regent. She struck coins in his name. June 27, 1308, when she married Dreux de Mello, the regency was entrusted to the grandfather of John II, John I of Chalon.
