Commentary

Poids léger. Solidus léger de 22 siliques précédemment attribué à l’atelier d’Antioche. Pendilia aux extrémités bouletées. Couronne perlée. Cuirasse lisse. Bouclier orné d’un cavalier. Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
Lightweight. Lightweight solidus of 22 siliquae previously attributed to the Antioch mint. Pendilia with pelleted ends. Beaded crown. Smooth cuirass. Shield decorated with a rider. This type appears to be much rarer than general works suggest.

Historical background

TIBERIUS II CONSTANTINE

(09/26/578-08/14/582)

Justin lost his mind in 574 and General Tiberius ruled the empire from then on. He was associated with power and named august on September 26, 578 and succeeded Justin without problem on October 5, 578. The regnal years are counted since his accession as Caesar.
