Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés, un peu court au revers sur la légende. Belle tête stylisée d’Alexandre III le Grand. Frappe légèrement tréflée au revers avec un petit écrasement de frappe sur la tête d’Athéna

Obverse description : Buste diadémé d’Alexandre III le Grand à droite sous les traits de Zeus Ammon cornu.

Reverse

Reverse description : Athéna nicéphore casquée et drapée assise à gauche sur une base, tenant de la main droite tendue une victoriola et de la main gauche, un sceptre transversal, appuyée sur son bouclier ; dans le champ à gauche, un terme.

Reverse legend : BASILEWS/ LUSIMA[COU]// [S]KOSTOKo[U].

Reverse translation : (du roi Lysimaque/ Scostocos).

Commentary

Imitation au type et au nom de Lysimaque. Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire de la vente Lanz 166, n° 18. Portrait stylisé. Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. C’est la première fois que nous le proposons à la vente.
