Obverse description : Buste diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Théodose II à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A’a) ; diadème perlé.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Theodosius Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Théodose pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse legend : VICTORIA AVGG/ *|-// CONOB.
Reverse description : Victoria (la Victoire) nue jusqu’à la ceinture, debout à droite, tenant un bouclier sur lequel est inscrit : XXX/ XXXX en deux lignes ; une petite cuirasse derrière elle ; étoile à huit rais dans le champ à gauche ; dans le champ inférieur à droite, un chrisme.
Reverse translation : “Victoria Augustrorum”, (La Victoire des augustes).

Commentary


Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Le diadème est terminé par un gros cabochon rond gemmé. Fibule d’attache gemmée prolongée par trois pendants bouletés. Ptéryges invisibles sous le paludamentum.

THEODOSIUS II
