Obverse description : Buste diadémé, casqué et cuirassé de Théodose II de face, tenant de la main droite la haste qui repose sur l'épaule et de la gauche, un bouclier orné d'un cavalier chargeant à droite (N’a).
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Theodosius Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Théodose pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : VOT XXX - MVLT XXXXS/ -|*// CONOB.
Reverse description : Constantinople assise à gauche, casquée et drapée, les jambes croisées, le pied droit posé sur une proue de navire, tenant de la main droite un globe crucigère et de la main gauche un sceptre ; derrière, un bouclier.
Reverse translation : “Votis tricennalibus/ Multis quadracennalibus”, (Vœux pour le trentième anniversaire de règne et plus pour le quarantième anniversaire à venir).

THEODOSIUS II

(01/10/402-07/28/450)

Theodosius II, born in 401, was proclaimed august in 402 at 9 months. After the death of his father Arcadius in 408, the two chancelleries of Ravenna and Constantinople are cold. Honorius would like to reunite the Empire. On his death on August 15, 423, John, secretary to the late Emperor and new august, had a very small series of solidi minted in the name of Theodosius II until November 20, when he was considered a usurper.
