Antiochus VI Dionysus, the son of Alexander Balas and Cleopatra Thea, was proclaimed king by the general Diodotus fight against Demetrius II. Antiochus VI once assassinated by Diodotus in 142 BC, it was proclaimed king under the name of Tryphon (142-138 AC).. Demetrius II was captured in 140 BC by the Parthians and his brother Antiochus VII Sidetes who succeeded him. Cleopatra Thea hastened to marry.
